Lump on cervical spine. (Back of neck)

Hi.

I was wondering if anyone has been through the same as me.

Back in September I had a sudden severe head pain which I was rushed to hospital it was that bad.  They check me over and decided to do a CT scan on my head which was clear. And also decided to do a lumbar puncture for meningitis which was also clear and I was discharged..I then had severe headaches and weakness down the left side.of my body arm.and leg which felt like sciatica.

Was admitted again and gave a CT with dye to check the veins ana arteries. All.clear.

I have now found a lump on the back of my neck which was small.and grown now within a week. It's makes me feel dizzy of pressed hard and it does move slightly.  I have daily nausea and still weakness in my arms and left leg.

I have an MRI Sunday and my nerves are gone. I have a toddler and petrified it's something more sinister than a cyst or fatty lump.

  • Hello Kellyb86,

I just wanted to wish you the very best of luck for your MRI on Sunday. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting to find out more about this lump on your spine.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,

  • Hi . It came as a fatty lump and the pain is due to loss of the curve in my cervical spine. So nothing cancerous xx
