Endometrial cancer - alternative tests?

Have been referred to hopsital after abnormal post menopausal bleeding.  The imaging showed some womb thickening and polyps.  The surgeon could not perform the local hysterocopy as the cervix would not open.  She has said that a general op hysterocopy might be dangerous as uterus could be torn and so is considering alternatives and just said they will let me know and they may do another image in 6 weeks and then decide.

She also said I would not be able to get a general op at the moment anyway due to lengths of queues.

I'm no panicking about the wait and not knowing what's wrong with me.  Can anyone help?

  • Hello Carolb1

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some health problems recently and that the planned investigations weren't able to be completed. It's understandable that you're feeling worried about what may be causing your symptoms.

I know that many of our members here will understand how difficult this period of waiting for tests and results can be and at the moment things seem to be more difficult for many patients due to the delays associated with the pandemic. It can help at times like this to talk things through with someone and so I wanted to suggest that you give our team of nurses a call. I'm sure that they will be able to offer you some advice and support whilst you're still waiting on the next steps to be taken. They're available Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0808 800 4040.

I hope you have some news soon.

    Best wishes,
    Jenn
