Found a lump

Hi,

Last night i find a lump on my right testicle, its around 2-3 CM and really hard to touch. Think its been there a while but only just noticed and checked, im not to sure what to think. The left testicle feels fine and no lumps at all but the right has most definitely got a lump on there, im booking in at the doctors to have checked but can anyone tell me the process?

Thanks.

  • GP will refer you to urological consultant at your local hospital who will give you a diagnosis through ultrasound. It could be a benign lump, like a cyst, but you will be examined by a consultant who specialises in this, who will then decide if a procedure is necessary.

    Hopefully it is benign.

  • Thank you for the reply,

I will book in with a doctor tomorrow and hopefully its not  what I think it is as alot running through my head at the min.

    Thanks again.

    Aaron

  • Explain that to your GP, the anxiety and stress.

GPs can request local ultrasounds. I would ask that as there is a nationwide delay in radiology due to COVID, so if your GP requests it you may hopefully get good news sooner, rather than waiting on an examination by a consultant urologist. Also we cannot tell GPs to make a routine or urgent referral to a consultant or radiology, but you can ask if they are putting the request in as urgent or routine - that way you know if they suspect a cancerous or benign lump.

Let me know how you get on. Best wishes are with you.
