Don’t understand what is happening

I am feeling extremely anxious and do not really understand what is happening.

on 11 December I had an ultrasound due pain in chest and back. After the ultrasound the lady told that she has seen a gallstone and some worrisome tissue and that she would be sending my report to gp straight. I was told that I needed to call my gp today.

I went home and called my gp once she had the report she said that I had a 2.1cm gallstone and a 3.6cm vascular growth in my gallbladder. A referral was being made by her straight away for a CT scan and I should be seen within 2 weeks. I had my CT on 17 December.

On the 23 December I met a specialist nurse who said the CT scan confirmed what the ultrasound report detailed that I had a large gallstone and this growth in the gallbladder but that everywhere else was clear. The specialist nurse said that a multi discipline meeting will take place in 30 December to discuss my case and decide whether I have my gallbladder removed via keyhole surgery or whether I have an extended procedure where some of my liver tissue and lymph nodes are taken. If it was keyhole this would be done at my local hospital but if extended then would be carried out at trauma hospital in different 10 miles away.  I received a call on 30 December by the Specialist Nurse's assistant to say my case has been discussed and that my gallbladder will be removed via keyhole surgery and that this should be done mid to late January.

I have googled to try to get some more info about what is happening and it has really scared me. From what I have read because of the size of the growth there is a high chance of it being cancerous.

I do not understand what is happening is the decision to remove my gallbladder via keyhole a good sign?

I am feeling extremely anxious/overwhelmed and struggling to focus on anything or sleep.
