Still worried probably overthinking but looking for advice

I have been back and forth with my doctors for since September and i cant help but worry. My symptoms are currently a hard gland in below ear jaw area aches and pains on the right side from my neck through my color bone armpit and shoulder. However i have had two blood tests both of which are fine. I also have several digestive issues which have come on during this time such as hiccups and heartburn. Which i have been given peptac. I was also given ibuprofen gel but when i used it in the specific area my whole neck became itchy in red/ purple patches which stayed for days after i stopped using it. I need some assistance am I overreacting or should i push for more tests... are the blood tests enough evidence that i shouldnt be concerned. I hate to waste peoples time so im sorry if u feel like i have because i know alot of people are worse of than me i just want to have some advice. Thank you

  • You could push for an gastroscopy/endoscopy, which diagnoses upper GI symptoms. However your GP may have already tried to see if this was necessary by doing the blood tests. If still not happy and concerned, I would speak to your GP about an upper GI endoscopy. It's not a very pleasant procedure though.

  • Hi Elizer,

No advice per se, but having very similar experience here. I've had right side pain including ribs and through to my shoulder for a couple years, checked for gallbladder stuff but nothing to be seen. About 3 months ago I started feeling exhausted, sick, GI symptoms and just unwell. Glands on my right side neck and above collarbone have been swollen and sore for a couple months now, got a chest x ray tomorrow because of back/shoulder pain and was supposed to get US of glanda but this hasn't been programmed yet. Loads of bloods done, high WBC count. I've had an upper abdominal MRI, nothing worrying. But my glands are still swollen and sore and my shoulder is constantly uncomfortable. Anyway, I've had probably 15-20 GP consultations about this and I have had to majorly hassle them as I have a toddler and am unable to look after him properly, sleeping 16hrs a day and losing weight. All I can say is KEEP on at them and do not give up, they may have had the training but nobody knows your body and what is normal for you like YOU. There are a bunch of GI conditions that can cause these kind of symptoms so try not to tie yourself in knots but be prepared that it can take a long time to get anywhere.

    Best of luck xx
