Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma at 19?

Hi, I'm 19 and am 99% I've got non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. My symptoms are slightly swollen lymph nodes on left side of neck including a small hard lump under my ear which is not movable, two rubbery lumps in my lower back (GP said possible fatty lumps) however after checking online I realise they may be other lymph nodes. Itchy Skin and finally really bad fatigue. The only symptom I don't have is the night sweats. I'm struggling to see what else this could be. I'm waiting on an ultrasound becoming available and also my blood results. I know I can't be diagnosed on here but is there any other conditions that could cause my symptoms? Any advice is appreciated at this point.

  • Hi Cam1,

Sorry to hear you are feeling anxious about having lymphoma.

I also had a similar experience 2 years ago- I had an enlarged, unmovable lymph node on my neck which gradually got bigger over a few months to the size of a golf ball. I was also very fatiqued, and was so achy I could barely get out of bed some days. Was urgently referred to a specialist who did an ultrasound and a biopsy and also a PET scan to see if there were any further enlarged nodes. The results came back as multiple enlarged nodes through my entire body- safe to say I was convinced I had Lymphoma.

However, my biopsy and ultrasound came back as simply reactive nodes- no cancer! Lots of tests and referrals later, i was given a diagnois of Lupus which is an auto-immune condition.

Try not to google your symptoms too much as it always shows the worst case scenario! There are alot of other condition it can be, however its best to get them looked at professionally just in case. If it does turn out to be lymphoma, these is a very curable disease so try not to panic untill you have confirmation.

    Hope that helps!

  • Hi, I have very similar symptoms to you and had an ultrasound which was fine but I'm still worrying as I've got the classic symptoms of itching, night sweats, have you had any results back yet? Xx
