Advice please Bladder Cancer?

Hi there, I would really appreciate some advice.

Two weeks ago I went for a Flexible Cytoscopy for suspected Bladder Cancer,  a growth was found in my bladder and the urologist was clearly very shocked to of found anything, and proceeded to ask me lots of questions, and then asked for another member if staff in the room to go and get a snr doctor to come and have a look, when she returned she informed us they had gone home.

I had previously google bladder tumours before this, and my growth was identical to this, I shouldn't have googled but I did. Photographs were taken of the growth and I was told 'I think its okay' this did not fill me with confidence but I trust that they are the professionals. I have now been told I am being discharged, I know I am no doctor but I am so confused that a growth was identified  photographed and no follow up to even investigate what this is is being arranged. I'm not sure if I am just being really silly, as I respect that they are professionals and would never knowingly ignore cancer, but I'm not filled with confidence that this is being looked into enough. Has anyone else experienced anything similar to this?

  • Hi Lucie8,

I can understand this must have been a little confusing. If you feel you don't have answers as to what the issue is, then the only thing really is to speak to your doctor again to ask any questions you have. If you don't know, and you feel they don't know exactly, then you can push for further information.

If you'd like to talk anything through with our nurses about this then you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

    Wishing you all the best,
