That's great news.... I'm just so scared.. Hope your cousin is OK.. Praying for her x. Yeah it's routine they send you... My doc said they don't just see you and then just say cheerio.. Fingers crossed I get good news on Tuesday xx

  • Hi Rachie,

I just read your post, I discovered a large lump in my upper left quadrant of left breast a few days ago, I am waiting on an appt from hospital.

can I ask if you had any pain associated with the lump, I'm convinced I have a cyst of some sort as lump is painful, but it's hard.

    thanks

    M

  • Hi Minky73

sorry to hear you've found a lump but as many of the lovely people on here say that only 1 in 8 that visit the breast clinic have a cancer diagnosis so I know it's so hard not to worry just hold on to that

No , my lump wasn't painful , but more tender ? Though the radiologist was surprised that I didn't have any pain and that also she said that if she pulled in 100 women off the street around 50 would have breast lumps

Sorry to ask but are you 47 ? I'm not too sure if 73 is your year of birth ? If so the consultant did say that a lot of lumps are to do with our  age and cysts are really common

I hope I've given you some reassurance and support

    Hugs

    xx

  • Hi Nic

    thanks for your lovely message

    Good luck for Tuesday !

Please read my reply to Minky73 as it really does seem that breast lumps are fairly common ( although scary !)

My cousin was fine too thank goodness, she just has lumpy boobs !

All the staff from the consultant to the nurse to the radiologist were absolutely lovely and so reassuring so you'll be well taken care of whilst at your appointment

I have 2 amazing friends that have recently gone through breast cancer journeys and I'm in absolute awe of them and everyone on this forum that have had a diagnosis

    Sending hugs

    xx

  • Hi Rachie

thanks for getting back to me, it has helped!

yes I'm 47, guess my user name gave it away

I am thinking it will be a cyst.. I hope they can drain it.. it's quite tender.

Great to know there's some support out here

  • Hello

I am also going to the hostipal on Saturday and I am terrifyed, the doctor said she doesn't think its anything to worry about and thinks its horomnal, I just want Saturday to be here as I have been worrying sick about this, I am also only 27 so it will be an ultrasound as too young for mammogram that's what i was told.

Good luck and let's keep all updated.

    Laura x

  • Hi LW1234
