Hi I've got hashimotoes thyroiditis and 6 years ago had half my thyroid removed as they found a lump on scan it was removed and biopsied and ok but unfortunately found 2mm pap cancer lower down. The last 6 months I've felt unwell I've had constant infections, urine, then ear, sinus and chest infection more recently a tooth infection with swollen salivery glands and been on lots of antibiotics. I've had five negative covid tests as I've had a temperature on and off each time I've had these infections.
I took five days antibiotics couple weeks ago for the tooth infection and called doctor as I still felt lethargic and told him about pain in lymph under chin and the sides near ear but he wouldn't see me and insisted I needed another five days antibiotics. These did not help so called doctor again to be told he was on annual leave and so spoke to another doc who said just to wait it out and see how I go. Spoke to a doctor via an app the next time who said I should go to A and E?! I reluctantly went and was told doctor should have seen me in clinic and this was happening a lot and that I likely had a virus I.e glandular fever and took my bloods which came back ok and said she would write to the gp and request he sees me for throat swabs etc.
I feel so bad, I've got severe ear pain which doesn't go with painkillers and occasional pain in jaw along my neck ears feel full and I'm getting a whooshing, thumping sound in my left ear. I've been so lethargic I've been spending up to 2 hours a day in bed after a full nights sleep, I'm so unmotivated and depressed as I'm fed up with being ill and fobbed off by the doctors. I just need to talk to others in similar situations as I feel so alone at the moment. Does anyone think this is just a virus or should I be demanding an urgent referral for a scan? Am calling my gp tomorrow who will be back from annual leave.
