Thyroid, lymph and breast lumps

Hi all,

Hoping someone can help. I had a benign breast lump back in August, had an excisional biopsy so all in all it took 9 weeks until i knew i was ok. In November a rather large lump appeared at the front of my neck. Visited the gp who referred for an urgent scan. I had the scan the next day and consultant  Radiologist said he thought thyroid lump was benign but he was 99% sure i had sjogren's syndrome and because of that was concerned about multiple swollen lymph nodes he could see and recommended an urgent referral to ENT.

I attended ENT appointment and saw lovely doctor who asked some questions, examined my neck and said he didnt think i had sjogren's despite the ultrasound showing swollen saliva glands, said the thyroid lump was a goitre and that he would take me off the cancer pathway. I was delighted but now i am worried that i have been dismissed without biopsies being done of the swollen lymph glands, which are still rather large, and have this huge lump at front if my neck.

Worried that one doctor was worried and the other wasn't even though he didn't do any extra tests.

To make matters worse the breast lump is back, it is in exactly the same place so i am hoping scar tissue  but back on another 2 week wait.

Feel like such a hypochondriac but i am worried all these lumps are linked.

Anyone else experienced anything like this?

Thank you for reading

  • Hello Amy10

I'm sorry to hear about all the health concerns that you've had going on over the past few months. Hopefully the breast clinic will be able to give you some reassurance about this new lump that you've noticed.

With regards to your concerns about the swollen lymph nodes that you've mentioned, it's probably a good idea to get in touch with your GP. They will be best placed to offer you some reassurance about your goitre and discuss the raised lymph nodes. If any further investigations are needed they will be able to put this into motion for you.

I do hope that you have some answers soon.

    Best wishes,
