Breast and arm pain - lumpiness doctors can’t feel

Hello!

I was just looking for advice really, I am a worrier and tend to freak about health due to past health issues. However, I'm feeling fed up not anxious trying to get help for my pain. I was fixated on lymph nodes I had for so long I neglected pain I had in my breast which has gotten bad (I have seen doctors).

im 25 a student at uni and nurse my 2 year old son my symptoms are

- breast pain with any pressure (usually upper outer area)

- dull achy arm going right down left arm  which sometimes feels numb

- tugging on my armpit when nurse my son even down my arm on the inside

- lumpy feeling boobs (always have)

- small lymph node on collarbone same side, neck (several) and armpit all are loveable except right under jaw been scanned and given the ok regardless of pain in my jaw.

aaaaaanyways

Somethings off, I've had a very brief scan on one area on my breast even though I said I had a few lumps bothering me and my armpit where I had 2 lymph nodes but not technically enlarged and physical evaluation and was discharged. I don't want to sound crazy, or waste nhs resources but am I meant to just put up with this pain that's all day everyday for months ? My arms feels so numb and weak too! I could probs just about afford a private scan but do I then have to commit to all further treatment if needed or can I go back to my gp with findings ? I feel so guilty spending £250 on a scan my partner will probably think I'm being stupid but it's making me miserable. My grandma currently has a rare huge Tumor in her breast too and my nan died of ovarian cancer so I'm quite nervous about leaving it.

Also my son is a bit funny feeding from left boob none of the lumps are huge and tugging armpit has been there for ages but arm pain and breast pain has gotten considerably worse.

  • Hello Becksxxx

I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with ongoing breast pain along with some weakness and numbness.

Given that you feel the pain has worsened and you are feeling so anxious about what may be causing this it would be sensible to get back in touch with your GP.

I do hope that they are able to help resolve things for you.

    Best wishes,
