Am I going crazy? Or should I be worried?

I'm a 21 year old female, and I know I am very young and it is very unlikely I have bowel cancer but I can't shake this gut feeling something isn't right. I have been back and forth from the gp since April. I initially went due to a change in bowel habits where I was an extremely upset stomach after any big meal I ate. This got put down to IBS which I accepted and started taking probiotics. This seemed to work up until August and then I started having a lot of trouble with abdominal pain all over but specifically in my right side. I got a pelvic ultrasound which was clear for cysts. I kept going back as I am extremely tired, nauseous, abdominal pain, feeling full quickly and I have this weird lump (not hard more of a bulge) just outside of my right hip. I also have a constant ache / sharp pains in my right waist and ribs.

im at a complete loss, I have another ultrasound sometime in January but I am so so worried it is something bad. I seem to have a lot of symptoms bar blood in stool and I am just looking for other peoples experiences and advice if possible to help me until January!

thank you!

  • Hello CatherinexSmeet,

I'm sorry you've been having these uncomfortable symptoms, if your symptoms change before your appointment you should let your doctor know. Hopefully your concerns will be addressed during the ultrasound, it might also help to write your questions down to take with you. There's no way of knowing until further tests are done, but there is some information here to help you stay healthy at home.

I hope your next appointment goes ok,

  • Hi , did you ever find out what your stomach issues were being caused by? I'm going through a similar thing and am really worried. Hope you're ok!  Thanks x
