Hi, I'm just here to vent really.
Around 6 months ago my breast became really itchy and about a week later there was a small red patch, I went to the doctor and was told it was just an infection and given steroid cream to clear it.
Fast forward to November and the redness, dry and itchy patch has taken over half my aereola. I go to the doctor again and am told it's excema.
In the week after using the excema treatment, the red area rapidly increases, my nipple drastically changes shape and there's starts to be significant discharge, mixture of yellow and bloodish.
I am put on different antibiotics twice and treated with an antifungal cream, all to no progress.
My nipple has now been completely consumed by this redness, as a 20yr old I'm having to wear breast pads, despite never giving birth in my life and the itching is unbearable. I know you shouldn't google but it seems to be all too similar to Paget's, definitely too close for comfort.
There's cancer in my family but no breast cancer history, however I was on the pill for a year which I've heard can increase chances of breast cancer by 30%.
I'm currently referred to breast clinic and waiting for an appointment, it should take two weeks but I think it's taking longer because of Christmas and covid. The past few days it's really hit me, my nipple looks just like pictures of pagets, so many medications haven't worked and it's fitting all the symptoms. I'm starting to get really scared and I don't know who to turn to, I'm only 20 and I feel I've just started to enjoy life. I'm so scared. I know it could be nothing but at the same time, the itching is unbearable, my nipple is completely deformed and it's leaking so much, it's clearly not nothing.
My main worry is symptoms started 6 months ago, and the rash covers so much space now, I'm scared I've left it too long, not been taken seriously because of my age.
Anyway, it's just been stressing me out so I needed to vent, any advice on what this could be instead of cancer? I've just been filling up with excuses of what else could explain it but I'm running out of options.
