Thyroid lump

Hi all, I'm waiting on a a thyroid lobectomy to determine whether the lump I have is cancerous or not (the biopsy showed a 30% chance but to be sure it needs to come out) and I now have another lump just above it on my neck. This new lump has grown since I spoke to (and saw) the consultant (member of the team) and I'm wondering if I should call them to discuss this.  Any advice would be great as I'm a little lost here.

  • Hello Babooshka1970 and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry another lump has appeared whilst you're waiting for your thyroid lobectomy. I'm not sure if you made a decision about what to do since making this post but there's no harm in getting in touch with the consultant to let them know.

If you'd like to discuss this with one of our cancer nurses they'll be available again next week on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday (except bank holidays) between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Kind regards,
