Seeking for some urgent advice regarding cervical discharge

Hi everyone I hope yous are all keeping well & safe.

I was hoping to seek some advice & help regarding severe dark blooded cervical discharge I have been having on off for the past few months, Most tends to be mid cycle.

I started to notice heavier more painful and clotted periods 3 months after my son was born ( he is now 9 mo). I also have sore gripping stomach pains which come and go followed my diorrhea I keep blaming it on coffee but I have drank coffee for years.

I put it down to my body changing following pregnancy also and hormones as my mood has been quite dull to .

However as the weeks have went by I have noticed that I have been spotting in between my cycles and very heavily.

Best way to desribe it is really dark blooded jelly clots, they sometimes start off light pink and then get darker ( especially in the morning ).

I completely forgot about it as I have a two year old to and recently complete a full house rebuild & renovation so I have been extremely busy.

Thankfully at my hairdresser she mentioned her mother had been recently diagnosed with cervical cancer as she had notice she had post menopausal spotting.

Hearing this set alarm bells & I contacted my GP, thankfully I had an out app that day. I had swabs done & an internal which the GP said my cervix looked fine and felt fine to his eye but did notice a lot of discharge so he has referred me for an ultrasounds and also done bloods which I'm very pleased about.

im just wanting to know if anybody else is in the same boat or who has been through the same & if they  have any advice as you always do expect the worst.

Thanks so much!

  • Hey I have been suffering the same and had my scan this week. I have a cyst on my right ovary so need to be rescanned in a few months to see if it's gone or gotten any bigger.  My swabs were clear and bloods I was found to be anaemic.

Last week I was so scared and kept thinking the worst especially since it was an urgent referral. This week I'm a lot happier. Hope you don't have too long to wait. Dr Google is the worst!

  • Hi,

thank you so much for taking your time to reply to me.

it's reassuring to hear that you have had something very similar, and your right the whole google situation really is your worst nightmare!

How have you been with your whole discovery & symptoms? So glad to hear that they know it's a cyst & they r keeping an eye on it for you.

It's funny you mention that as when I was around 20'weeks pregnant with my son they did notice I had 2 cysts but they literally never said or mentioned it ever again to me so now you mention about yourself it does make me think possibly the same.

I did also have extreme amounts of fluid in my uterus to that they said they have never seen before and said it was like a twin amniotic sac ( even tho I was only carrying single pregnancy ) & I had to be c sectioned at 37 weeks as it was dangerous.

So in a crazy way that has been sticking in the back of my head as they could never find out what it really was or done tests on the fluid and left the whole situation like that.

Good luck with everything & I'm sure you will be completely fine,

    keep me posted!
