Waiting, waiting , waiting!

i noticed a breast lump earlier this year, was referred and checked out about two weeks later. All done at one appointment, the lump I had found was just a cyst but they also spotted something else which needed a biopsy and the name they gave me, on diagnosis, escapes me, but it was benign which was more important to me!

fast forward and I noticed either another lump altogether or this one has multiplied and joined up with others as now huge, nonsmooth, and bothering me. If I suddenly had bad lumps, how would I know if I just accepted that any lump I now find is benign. So I went back to the GP who agreed this needed checking, and referred me for another urgent ‘within 2 weeks’ appointment. Only this was two months ago. I know they’re busy but the waiting has me on a rollercoaster of emotion. I call up every couple of weeks to be told it’ll be another two weeks, now it’s unlikely to be this year.

Just wondering, is anybody else waiting so long?

  • I had been waiting for an endoscopy, colonoscopy, liver and pelvis ultrasound since the summer.... and every time I call I'm told I'm on the list but they are prioritising cancer.  So, having been told I'm having my CA125 checked on the 29th, I called ultrasound again and yet again I'm told emergency only....so I said to them I have been waiting since July and now I'm being checked for Ovarian cancer, so at what point does it become frigging urgent!! She was very apologetic, and I get their point, but they have no clue what's going on half the time!

As soon as I told her they have expedited it several times and my Coeliac test is clear so they are checking for cancer, they miraculously found an appointment for me.  Its absolutely mad!!!!
