Hi everyone,
I hope you are all well - I've been reading this forum for quite a few months so here goes :)
I'm 31 with 1 daughter who is 3. I've always had regular periods with no issues at all. 28 day cycle and 5 day bleeds. In July this year I noticed a small amount of pink spotting mid cycle just once when I wiped. I thought nothing of it. The same thing happened in August and in September - always at different points in my cycle. In October I had 2 separate days where there was more blood when I wiped. I called the doctor and booked a smear.
I went for my smear at the beginning of November and explained my symptoms. They made me do a pregnancy test which was negative and they did some high vaginal swabs. I'm not on any hormonal contraception. Smear test was negative for HPV and any other nasty - but easily treatable - infections.
Doctor then referred me for blood tests and a transvaginal ultrasound. Ultrasound clinic have said they wont do it for 12 weeks as I wasnt referred urgently. Blood test results have come back low in folate (prescribed folic acid) and slightly high for LH and FSH.
Since November 3rd to December 3rd I had 2 days where I didnt bleed. It has been much heavier and it's been hard to work out where one period stopped and the next one started. Clearly the symptoms were getting worse but I could never get through to the doctor. I managed to speak to a different doctor who said she still didnt think it warranted an urgent ultrasound and she would prescribe me Cerazette to stop the bleeding.
A week later I receive a phone call from the original doctor, disagreeing with the other doctor. She has requested the she does an internal examination and that the ultrasound is now done urgently.
Sorry for the ramble! Just wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar. Just trying to remain positive that due to my age statistically its unlikely to be cancer but I cant help but worry a bit!
Hoping to hear from someone :)
