Raised CA125

Hi , all

just looking for advice or reassurance I'm really unsure but here goes, In 2016 in had a partial hysterectomy I was 40, this was due to really bad period, anyway skip to early 2020  I had severe abdominal pain to a point my neighbour phoned paramedics and I was taking to hospital suspected appendicitis , took for scans they just seen an enlarged overay they said wouldn't cause that much pain, was sent home with painkillers.
in August of 2020 I suffered this pain again but had vaginal bleeding so a trip to the doctors was called for , I went to see a new doctor in my surgery who had to call my original doc in for examination, who said everything looked fine from about 8ft away and no further treatment then she left , I told the new doctor to do what she thinks as I'm her patient and that doc should never have came in as we have history and I reported her , anway she want a ca125 test done

2 days later got a call from the doc it's raised and had a 2 week referral , been to that left ovary fine can find the right one as my bowel was in the way done a trans scan still no sign , so was told bleeding after 4 years of having no womb was normal but I have to re do my ca125 , I have my date on 21st December I'm in limbo

don't know what will happen if it's up , if it's the same then why raised , I've managed to tell my husband my worry's but he's just gone in his shell in panic mode , my sister knew I went for blood test and what was happening but not a thing about since august , I don't know who to chat to any words would be great comfort thanks for listening

I'm just a little lost

  • Hi Nicki-,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. I'm sorry to read of your worries although I can understand this must all be a little confusing and unsettling.

It's good to hear they weren't too concerned at your referral. Hopefully the repeat test will help to provide a clearer picture.

If there is anything you would like to talk through with our nurses ahead of your appointment, you can reach them on 0808 800 4040 - Monday-Friday, 9-5.

Otherwise, I hope you're able to find out more soon. And we are always here for support on this forum if you need it at any point - it's a safe space to write things down and speak to others who understand.

    Wishing you all the best,
