Hi
New here. This question might not even be cancer related but the anxiety and my family history is making me post.
I'm a 41yo healthy male. My 32 yo sister died 3.5 years ago of colon cancer which it turns out isnt linked to a heriditary gene but warrants her siblings to undergo screening.
I had one colonoscopy 3 years which was completely clear and another this past August which was abandoned due to looping and discomfort. The male nurse turned me a few different positions to try and fix things and also pressed on my abdomen.
About 5 days after that colonoscopy in August I started getting this pain in my lower left side, wrapping around towards my navel or around to my groin at times. It persisted for about 6 weeks or more but the colonoscopy team weren't concerned. After 2 osteopathic treatments the pain disappeared almost completely for 4 or 5 weeks. It has recently returned. I lifted something very heavy and felt it coming on afterward. I suffer from issues with my scariliac joint from time to time that I injured running. I've also had lower and upper left sided back issues for 15 years.
Anyway they sent me for a CT colonoscopy Last week. I have issues with anxiety so was anxious for the doctor to call. She called today to tell me my colon was as clean as a whistle but the report highlighted an an issue with my iliac bone that warranted an Mri scan. She asked about pain and history etc and when she heard about pain and SC issues etc arthritis was mentioned. She said she will Do the mri urgently. She said this is because of my anxiety rather than her being overly worried about it.
Needless to say my anxiety is gone through the roof. Every since my sister died any unexplained illness is always cancer for me. I'm a scientist myself and realise the chances of having bone cancer is absolutely tiny but I'm so worried about it now and rational thinking goes out the window. The pain accelerates that thinking too.
Has anyone had issues with 'other findings' after ct scans.
I can't help thinking it can't be a coincidence that the pain started 5 days after being roughed up on the table during my colonoscopy in August?
