Hello , I'm new here at the same time I'm freaking out, I had my recent smear results back yesterday and it's saying detected HPV but no abnormal cells found got to go back in 12months.

I haven't been sexually active for 6 years and that was with my ex husband I haven't been able to meet anyone or trust anyone due to past DV so why is it being detected now? Also I'm really worried about my child I read that Hpv is transmitted through skin to skin so does that mean I can't hug my child or kiss him? I'm so confused say up all night crying please can someone give me advice especially the bit about my child thank you all
