White patch of skin swollen

Hi, I have had on/off pain and a white patch of skin (lump) about size of 5p, next to upper left tonsil, on arch. The pain changes from a bruised feeling, to a feeling that skin is sticking, then a rough sore sensation. Sometimes is hurt to swallow, other times a feeling throat is swollen or something trapped. This started 5 months ago.

My doctor has refused to see me all through this time but did refer me to ENT. He has now allowed me to access surgery last month after months of trying. He said he has no idea what the white lump is and told to wait for hospital.

A few days after seeing Dr i ended up with multiple tonsils stones and a spot at bottom under tonsil. When I told Dr this he said he didn't know what that was but offered antibiotics . I ended up removing the stones but the spot is still there and growing in size. I don't appear to get any pain from spot but white patch on arch iswhere the weird pain come from.

I have no idea what it is but it gets worse each week. I haven't heard anything from ENT despite being referred in early October and my doctor chasing them.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Thank you.

  • Hello harasJ

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some ongoing health concerns recently. You're obviously feeling anxious about things and it's good to hear that you've at least been referred to the hospital.

As I'm sure you're aware many hospitals have long waiting lists at the moment but if you were able to attend at short notice it may be worth giving your hospital a call to see if they have a cancellation list.

I do hope that things settle for you and that you have some answers soon.

    Best wishes,
