Waiting for biopsy results

Hi, I had my biopsy done yesterday without GA it was really uncomfortable and hurt quite a bit. I was very shaky afterwards. But I'm glad they managed to do it. Now just the waiting for results. I was told two weeks but it's seems some people had to wait longer. I've been a mess since they told me I needed this done but just glad it's done now.  Happy I've found this forum I've been reading all the comments and not feeling totally alone.

  • Hi!

sorry to hear that you had to have a biopsy and I wish you all the best!

I think that corona virus is making waiting times longer for some people. I was told 2 weeks but it's now been 4 and havnt heard anything. I'm assuming that means it's good news! But this isn't the same for everyone waiting times often depend on the urgency of your case and they can differ with different hospitals.

Hopefully you will get your results within the time frame that you were told! I understand that the waiting is extremely difficult but remember there are people who understand try to keep yourself distracted and busy. I wish you all the best

  • Hi Katiey-lee,

Thank you for your reply. It is a horrible wait. I am trying to keep busy and not think about it too much. Sorry to hear you have been waiting so long. I hope you hear soon. What biopsy did you have done?  Mine is for endrometrial cancer. Hope you don't mind me asking. I don't normally do forums but its nice to hear of people going through the same thing and how they are coping.

    Take care

  • Hey,

Of course I don't mind you asking! Don't worry I don't normally do forums either but I have found it has really helped me to read and speak to other people about their experiences with waiting for biopsy results.

I had a core needles biopsy done on an irregular mass in my breast, I was pretty shocked because I am very young and didn't know they did biopsy's for people my age as I have been told most changes in the younger peoples breasts are hormonal ones. I'm not too worried now as I am sure that they would have contacted me by now if anything was seriously wrong but For the first 3 weeks I always had the "what if" floating around my head. It would be nice to know what it was though.

I'm so sorry to hear that you had your biopsy done for  endrometrial cancer that must have been incredibly scary! Its good that you have had it done though and hopefully your results will come quickly as I understand that waiting is so hard! Please keep me updated if you don't mind. Praying everything goes well for you x

  • Hi, thank you for sharing, that must be very scary for you and being so young. I'm sure your right that they would've contacted you soone if something was seriously wrong. Can you not chase them up?

It is the waiting that's really hard. I've been reading lots on here and it's really helped.  I've joined a Facebook group also and so many stories and symptoms the same as mine so I'm pretty convinced my results will be positive not sure if that's helped or not. But maybe prepared me for the worst. Its such s horrible time though with the pandemic and just before Christmas.

I hope you get your results soon. I will let you know when I get my results.

Thanks for sharing and take care x
