Lymphoma / Leukemia investigation

Hi. I would like to know did any one have a blood test called a Protein Electrophoresis or Immunoglobulins when being diagnosed with a hematogical cancer?

Also, I would like to avoid doing a CT at all costs because of radiation. Does anyone know if an MRI or ultrasound are a viable option instead?

  • Hello isaura123,

A warm welcome to Cancer Chat! I hope that you will meet others here who have had this particular blood test before and that they will come and tell you more about it. Should you wish to talk to our nurses about anything, don't hesitate to give them a call on this free number 0808 800 4040 - their line is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. They may be able to tell you more too about the test options that may be available to you. This is also something you could discuss with your medical team - they will, I am sure, be able to tell you more about what scans you could have and whether you would still need to have a CT scan.

Best wishes and best of luck with your investigations. I am keeping everything crossed for you!
