Lump in Tummy, No Other Symptoms

Hi everyone,

I'm a 24 year old male, a bit overweight but otherwise healthy. I've been having dull, intermittent pains in my side for about a month now. I've had two different phone triage consultations with my GP who just gave me Naproxen and said to keep an eye on it.

A week ago I also noticed what seems to be a soft lump in the upper right side of my abdomen. I haven't had any other symptoms associated with cancer of the bowel/liver/stomach/gallbladder, but I'm still really freaked out as I've never had this before. I've also debated whether it's even a lump as I can fully push my (admittedly large) tummy in  and can't particularly feel anything, but there's a definite bulge out of the skin, and I can feel a pressure there when I'm breathing while lying down.

I told my GP about that on the phone yesterday. She told me to book in for a blood test and when the results come back she'll see me to have a look. I had the blood test yesterday, but I'm not sure when the soonest I can call for results is.

Just wondering if anyone has gone through anything similar? My mind is absolutely racing over what it could be and I'm losing lots of sleep over it.

I'm sorry to hear that you've had some health concerns over the past few months. It's good to know that your GP is investigating these for you and hopefully the test results will shed some light on what's going on.

We know that this period of waiting for tests and results can be really difficult. Try to keep busy and avoid using Google to search for answers as this will only lead to you feeling more anxious.

I hope that you have some news soon.

    Best wishes,
