Lump on roof of mouth

I have had a lump forming on the roof of my mouth.

I at first thought it was a blood blister, however it has got larger and is not when I went to the doctors and then was referred to the hospital.

The NHS have been great and I am due to get it removed by maxillofacial surgery.

What could this be? Noone has been able to say until it is out.

  • What was the outcome of this. I also have a lump on the roof of my mouth. No pain. I've been referred and to be honest I'm terrified and the waiting is agonisingly long.

I'd be grateful to know how you got on.

    Many Thanks

  • So sorry for the delay. Yes the gp referred me to the hospital very quickly to get a biopsy. They advised it was a pleomorphic adenoma and removed most of it just before Christmas.

Then again this June once they knew what it was! If left it could turn cancerous as it was a mixed tumour. So need to go back in June next year. Hope you are doing ok. The nhs are great you will he in great hands. Best to know what these things are.
