Lump/cyst

A few weeks ago, I found a lump under my breast (in the breast tissue but near the surface) about 1cm in a strange 8 type shape so almost like 2 lumps stuck together.

I went to the docs and the nurse examined me and she said that the lump was presenting itself as a cyst and when she took it between her fingers it had a little yellow head on it. She prescribed me with flucloxicillin and booked me back in 3 weeks later for an additional check up.

Fast forward 3 weeks (my appointment is tomorrow) I have completed the antibiotics and the lump must have doubled in size, it's really sore too, the head is huge now and weeps (it's gross). To say I'm beside myself is an understatement! Fully expected the antibiotics to work and the check up tomorrow to be routine.

From other people's experience what can I expect from tomorrow? Is there anything I should push for my docs to do? (They can be a bit slow on the uptake)

  • Hello DeeSpe76 and welcome to the forum.

I'm sorry no-one was able to get back to you before you had your appointment but I hope it went well and the nurse was able to put your mind at ease.

If you want to talk things through with one of our nurses then you're welcome to give them a call on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Fingers crossed it isn't anything sinister.

    Kind regards,
