Cutaneious Horn

Hi I am wondering if anyone has had a Cutaneous Horn.  I have one on the back of my hand near a knuckle.  I had a telephone consultation with my GP and sent a picture of the CH. She said that she would fast track me for a Dermotologist appointment but did re assure me that it is rare that anything underlying is found.  Sure enough less than 2 weeks later I had my appointment with the Dermotologist.  Again a lady she said that there needs to be a biopsy and day surgery to remove it.  As it is on my left hand which is my dominant I am forever catching it which is very painful.  I have had a telephone conversation with a Plastics consultant they said that due to the position it would need a skin graft so the surgery will be to remove tha whole thing with a margin then a skin graft and that it will be sent for biopsy.  I am  not to much worried as again was re assured that it is rare to find anyting underlying and to be honest just want the thing gone as it is ugly and painful.  I have been told it will probably 4 - 6 weeks before this happens.

Has any one else had experience of this.

Thanks

  • Hi Proudgran,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. This sounds quite difficult and I'm sorry to read that it is causing pain. It's good to hear that no-one seems too concerned and that you have a plan in place to sort it.

I hope it all goes well with getting it removed.

    Wishing you all the best,
