Mole biopsy results?

Hey so I had a mole removed a week ago, I know it's too early to expect the results as they warned me this could take 3-4 weeks but just wondering if anyone has received these earlier? I suffer with anxiety and so I am worried that if I get these earlier I will think that it means it's bad news, I know that may seem silly to some but my anxiety is awful!
also the nurse after the surgery said that I will receive the results by letter? I asked her even if the results showed something abnormal and she said yes? Is this accurate?? Seemed a bit odd, has anyone had any experience of this over the COVID period?
Any replies would be so appreciated xx

  • Hello Meggleigh1993,

I hope that you will hear from others on the forum who have had this experience of having to wait for mole biopsy results. Try not to think too much about the length of time it will take for results to come back and what this might mean for you. Receiving these earlier doesn't necessarily mean there is anything to worry about so try and just take a day at a time.

It does sound from what the nurse said to you that you will receive these results by letter and I hope other members of the forum will be able to tell you more about this based on their own individual experiences.

I am keeping everything tightly crossed that it turns out to be nothing to worry about.

    Best wishes,

  • Received my results today, I only had my procedure last week, turns out it's benign which I am so grateful and happy for! just thought I would update so that anyone comes this post knows that the length of time for the results really isn't an indicator on good or bad news, mine was just via letter!
Sending love to anyone going through this and is feeling as anxious as I was xx

  • Glad to hear your results were good

I'm still waiting after 5 weeks
