BREAST REFERRAL

Hi guys,

Last week I went to my gp with pain in my left armpit and around the left breast she couldn't feel a lump but referred me on the 2week pathway to the breast clinic, my appointment is the 2nd December. This morning I've noticed I have a lump on my right hand side clavicle bone near the throat, its actually on the bone and after touching it i get abit of pain. Now I'm absolutely terrified!!! I've no idea how long this lump has been there or even what it means. In May I had a contrast chest ct and xray which all came back fine, would this chest ct of picked up this lump if it was there then? I also recently had a cervical neck mri and brain mri which all came back clear and an abdominal ultrasound and a vaginal ultrasound with the wand which came back as me having 'free flowing fluid' behind my c section scar going up into my womb, but apart from that everything else was OK. I've had numerous blood tests which have all came back fine, they just detected i had non anemia low iron but I lost 3.5 pints of blood when I had my last baby so they put it down to that and I've been on iron tablets since. I'm now absolutely bricking myself and my appointment seems a lifetime away when in reality its this coming Tuesday. Will they investigate the lump on my clavicle at the breast clinic? I'm a mum to 6 kids the youngest being 6months old, 4 of them are under 8yrs old, they all need me. I was feeling quite positive about the referral thinking this was just a formality but now I've found this lump I'm totally freaking out

  • Hello Elou67,

I think since you discovered this new lump recently and it is in a different location - by the clavicle bone near the throat - it would probably be worth ringing your GP and mentioning this.

I hope your appointment goes well on Tuesday - it won't be long now until you get this properly investigated. I can imagine you must be super busy with 6 children! The best thing to do before the big day on Tuesday is to just keep focused on other things, on your little ones if you can and avoid looking anything up on the internet as this will only inevitably make you feel even more worried.

Do make an appointment with your doctor to get this new lump looked at and hopefully you will soon get some answers.

Best of luck for your appointment on Tuesday- we are keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine!

    Best wishes,
