SHOULD I BE CONCERNED?????

Hi guys

I'm 33 and a mum of 6, the youngest being 6months old, since my pregnancy I've had a heap of health issues, I was recently told I've a large fluid build up behind my c section scar going up into my womb, they said it was free flowing fluid?? Whatever that means.

Recently I've been gettin pain in my left armpit and around the same breast, I've also been gettin abit of pain around my left side collar bone going into the shoulder. I went to my gp and she has referred me on the 2week pathway to the breast clinic and my appointment is the 2nd December.

Should I be worried? Is there a list of other things this could be? Will they check out my collarbone aswell at this appointment?

I've got so many questions, I've a family history of cancer. My mum got diagnosed with bowel cancer this Feb just before the first lockdown happened, and her sister my aunt had breast cancer. I'm really trying to remain positive but sometimes I can't help but let the dark thoughts run riot in my mind and this leads me to a truly dark and terrifying place. I'm not gonna lie I'm scared x

  • I'm sorry about the health issues you've been having since the birth of your little one but I'm glad you've consulted a doctor and you've been referred for further investigation.

Although this may seem scary, 9 out of 10 people referred this way are not diagnosed with cancer. You can find out more just here.

You can also find out what may happen at your breast clinic appointment here but if you'd like to have a chat with one of our cancer nurses then do give them a call on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

Wishing you all the best for next week Elou.

    Kind regards,
