Hi
I had my first mammogram a few weeks ago at the age of 53 and was advised at the time that there may be a strong chance of being recalled it being my first time.
I was so glad I was advised if this as last week I had my recall letter. To be honest it came quickly and my appointment was today so thankfully not too long to fret or panic as that is certainly something I would normally do.
The Clinic were wonderful, so helpful and friendly and when the radiologist said ' you have been called back as something was 'seen' in your right breast' I was shocked. The next 60mins were a haze of more mammograms and then meeting with the Drs and an ultrasound. All was good and no issues seen so I wanted to let others know that just because you get a recall don't automatically assume the worst.
I should have probably asked what they thought they saw first time but to be honest I just wanted to leave and head outside to my husband.
if you, like me get a recall - first thing is don't panic and if you want to ask questions maybe write them down so you can ask and not be a jelly head like me and forget after the fact.
Take care all
Lis
