Hello Emma321, 

You do have a great friend it seems and she was right to insist you got this checked by the GP - it's always best to have any lump or bump examined by a medical expert even if just for peace of mind. Since you've also since noticed that you are experiencing bloody discharge from your nipple, I think this is a new symptom that you can't just ignore so I would ring the GP surgery tomorrow and explain the situation. You could explain as well that you are waiting for your referral appointment and ask whether they could tell you more as to how long it should take for you to be seen at the breast clinic.
