Swollen lymph node and thyroid gland

Hi I noticed about 3 months ago what seems to be a lump on the left side of my thyroid gland and a swollen lymph node under my ear also on the left side. I left them for about 2 months thinking they just go down down but never did. About a month ago I went to the doctors and she made an urgent referral straight away to the ent department at hospital. I then had to go for an mri scan and an ultrasound scan. After the ultrasound scan I had a biopsy in each lump. I'm now waiting for my results from the biopsy. Both lumps are hard , the lump under my ear I can move and the one in my throat moves up and down when I swallow.I have been worrying like mad over the last few weeks and just want answers. Has anyone had anything similar? Thanks X

    I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I hope you won't have to wait too long for your biopsy results. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting for these important results. 

    I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious. 

    I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and that they will be along soon to share their story with you. 

    Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Hi Lucie 

        Thank you so much for replying, I said to myself that I wouldn't look things up on google because it would make my anxiety 10x worse but I just couldn't help myself. I'm so confused as to what it could be, the lumps randomly appeared about 2 months ago and I haven't been poorly, also the results from my blood test came back clear and if it was an infection then surely it would show up on the blood test results? I just have such a bad feeling about it all but I'm trying my hardest to stay positive and not overthink. Anyway I've got an appointment at the hospital on Monday for my follow up results. Not long to wait now! X
