My advice is please go back to your doctor and get referred. Every and any new lump should be checked out. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. I had breast cancer and it was a lump in my armpit that revealed it. I'm fine now. Don't worry though,its likely u have a cyst or something benign,I met people who regularly found benign lumps, but always got them checked out, so don't worry.but get it checked for your own peace of mind. You're not wasting anyone's time,but taking care of yourself.

I found a lump / bump under my armpit a few days ago (tbh I've never thought to check my armpits so no idea how long it's been there), it feels fairly soft and if I press on it, it kinda flattens. I've got the doctors on Monday and I am absolutely terrified.

Hoping you have nothing to worry about, but no matter what it is it can be treated! I'm fine and cancer free as I mentioned! Please, keep that in mind. But waiting to find out what it is, is the hardest part! But I kind of knew that something was not right. When I lifted both my arms in the air and looked at the armpits, my right armpit curved outwards very slightly. I think mine had been growing for a while because I noticed that a teashirt I wore had been slightly tight under my armpit for months, but it wasn't something that was really noticeable until it was - ie in hindsight. When I showed someone else they could also could see the slight bulge. When I stretched my lright arm I could feel like a tightness along the length of my arm. My doctor was convinced it was nothing ie a cyst or something, but I had done so much google searching (not always  good, but can save your life sometimes!) that  I just knew. My lump could be moved slightly but it was more like a swelling. I was sent for a mammogram and biopsies that confirmed cancer.

I saw your post and wanted to reach out - I've had a similar feeling in my right armpit - no lumps just feels swollen and slightly tight. Been checked over by the GP and said she couldn't feel anything different between the two and where I had tenderness it was on the muscle. Just wondering how long it took you to get a mammogram and ultrasound. I'm 27 so think the GP is wary because of my age.

Just a word of encouragement - I did meet a few women on my cancer journey who had quite regularly found lumps and bumps in their breasts and surrounding region which were always found to be benign.

My GP was not actually convinced that my swelling was likely a sign of breast cancer ( I was 90% convinced - it was only visible when I raised my arms in the air and you could then see the slight protrusion compared to my other armpit) She did immediately refer me for a mammogram however. I saw my GP at the beginning of September and by the end of that same month I had done my mammogram. My mammogram appointment  was at 5pm and by 7pm I had seen the consultant surgeon and been informed that I had breast cancer! I could actually see on the ultrasound screen a shadow on my breast (but I had not felt a lump there). Everything happened very quickly from first seeing my GP to diagnoses, tests/biopsy, scans and treatments/surgery.
