Hello, 

I was just wondering if anyone has had a breast abscess before and could offer me some reassurance regarding the rest of the process and the pain!

Basically, had a small lump, it was near my period, thought nothing of it, waited a week, it wasn't gone so booked for gp. GP just prescribed me antiobiotics on 2 occasions as from pgotos, they thought just an infection. Got to out of hours and my breast felt like it was going to burst! So saw this doctor and they have now sent me to the hospital as I'm not breastfeeding etc so it's very uncommon.

I had the first needle drainage on Monday and have another tomorrow and new antibitocs but it is srill constantly stinging I think where the needle went in and swear it's getting redder!?

I was just wondering if anyone had any experience or how long it took to go down or how much drainage had to go ahead before the pain stopped? More worried they won't be able to drain it all via needle and have to have more surgery and I don't want that :( I know they took a sample so I'm sure it's not cancer but any advice would be great.
