Hard Lump in Breast

Hello!

I found a hard lump in my breast 4 weeks ago. It is very hard and does not move. It is at the bottom of my brest and feels as if it is implanted in my chest wall.

The reason I found it is because my nipple has very dry skin and was very red so I done a breast check.

I went to the doctors the day after I found the lump and she has referred me to the breast clinic. That appointment is next Tuesday 24th.

Has anyone else experienced this and put my mind at ease please? For 4 weeks now I have been spending every night googling and I'm so anxious and worried and have another week to go. I know most are found to be benign but I just can't help but worry! Also what can I expect at the breast clinic too please as the letter doesn't really say?

Thank you

  • Hi Jo_Arm,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. It's good to hear that you got this checked out and that you have a referral coming up.

There will be others here who have experienced something similar and so hopefully you'll receive further replies soon - although everyone's experience is different. There is some useful information about what to expect at the clinic here which hopefully is helpful.

Try to steer clear of Google as the information is often irrelevant and only increases worry. Keep yourself busy ahead of your appointment if you can.

    Wishing you all the best,

    Ben
