Ca125 40

I went for an Ultrasound scan the other day and it showed that there was a heterogenous avascular area measuring 12mm by 13mm by 12mm at the neck of the womb. My ovaries looked normal and nothing else noted on the scan, but my doctor has referred me to gynae for further investigations and probable scan. My ca125 level has come back at 40. I'm really worried and in bits looking for any advice/ help.

  • No advice just in same position.

I had upset stomach for months ignored by gp the. Went for f2f where they found hard mass. Fast tracked to gynae oncology who agreed something there and had urgent ct of ovary stomach and chest and bloods. Skipped the ultrasound. Get f2f appointment this Friday for results!
hopefully they'll see you quickly scan you and rule out anything sinister could just be beignin mass for most that's what they are!

  • I know I'm just so worried that the level is 46 and keep thinking about this avascular focal lesion not typical of appearance of fibroid. The waiting and worrying is awful feeling very scared ️

  • Totally understandable your worried. the waiting not knowing are the worst. try and take each day as it comes stay busy. It may well it's just needs more investigating with different tests by more experienced person (gps are general and have much less knowledge and experience compared with specialists)  Naturally a consultant would be best placed to ensure things were  investigated thoroughly and you were treated in the right way whichever the outcome in fact having worked in gp surgery I would say this is a given in your circumstance (anything that warrants further investigation to go to specialist).

9 out of 10 referrals on are nothing sinister I know it may not help but whilst there's always a chance most of the time it's not.
