Chances of colorectal cancer?

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well.

I have had small amounts of blood in my stool since August (probably 7-8 times) with normal bowel movements and abdominal pain/cramping since January which is generalised along the whole abdomen. I had a colonoscopy done three years ago and had nothing there at the time, which was also done due to trace amounts of blood. I'm 28 years old. My question is, what's the likelihood of colorectal cancer 3 years after colonoscopy and should I chase this up? As I get bad belching, stomach pain which im sure is down to gastritis of some sort which I take lansoprazole for. Again, the blood isn't much and I have had a high-ish calprotectin test of 200, but was normal on repeat. What are my risk factors and what would anyone advise?

thank you!

  • Hi Lazo91,

Welcome to Cancer Chat. To be honest it is only really your doctor who can advise on this, as they are best placed to give a medical opinion but also one that is specific to you and your history.

If you have concerns then it is always best to give them a call to find out more.

    Wishing you all the best,
