Worried about a neck lump

I'll keep it short but basically I'm quite worried about a hard lump on the left hand side of my neck.

it's been there for 4 months now and to be honest I've grown used to it, however I am a bit concerned after googling what it could be.

I haven't felt ill once besides having a sore throat every now end then and I'm worried that it's something sinister. I'm only 20 and I'm at uni, so I'm very stressed as you can imagine.

Any other experiences would be great to hear about as I'm very worried. Thanks.

Book a doctors appointment. Call up your GP at 8am on Monday and say you are concerned about your lump and need it seen urgently. The quicker the appointment, the quicker the diagnosis, the quicker you can be relieved of your anxiety.

I understand that you are worried. The only way to put your mind at rest is to get it checked out.

the gp will see you as soon as possible and tell you if you need any additional tests.

in the meantime take care of yourself.0

Try not to worry. Like the other posters say just make a gp appointment so you can be seen as soon as possible
I had a lump in my neck two years ago which was there a while but bugging me. It was hard but movable. Gp sent me for ultra sound and it turned out to be a cyst. I still have it now.

Hi all,

just a quick update...

Saw the GP just now and they couldn't feel anything! They said to keep an eye on that area but sent me away with no concerns.

feeling very relieved but I know not everyone is as lucky so I'm thinking about those who didn't get that result.

Very good news! Lumps can come and go of course. But lumps in the neck always need to be followed up if they last more than a few days, so you definitely did the right thing.
