Complex cyst

Hi all, 

 

I hope you don't mind me joining. I guess I am scared of the unknown and waiting for confirmation and further investigation has been difficult. 
I have been told that I have an enlarged right ovary, complex cyst and a leak in my pelvis. My CA125 was raised during my first blood test and when repeated it was lowered. Doctor recommended I have an MRI but apparently I don't meet the criteria for an urgent one. He has now told me he is sending a referral to the cancer clinic. I am also waiting to be seen my a gynocolgist. I do not know what to expect and what could be the issue. My doctor said it could be ovarian cancer but early to say. Does anyone have any advice or in the same boat?

    I am a little bit further forward by the sounds of it. 
    have been told I have a complex cyst on each of my ovaries that are showing suspicious charateristics. 
    ive had a CT scan and my consultant originally thought it could be 'chocolate cysts' due to endometriosis. However she needed to confirm when she had my mri results back, unfortunately my mri was the day before seeing my consultant. 
    I got a call yesterday from my consultant yesterday to say my scan was back and both her and the radiologist were concerned with what they saw. She will be speaking to the MDT a week on Monday, I have to have a full chest CT scan before hand. 
    I got a call from the oncology nurse an hour later who was so helpful and lovely, she pretty much answered all my questions, apart from staging or definite diagnosis, but even gave me info on what these cysts looked like! 
    Both she and my consultant said they won't know for sure if it is ovarian cancer until I've had a full hysterectomy, including ovaries and tubes etc and the can get it under a microscope. 
     

    What was your CA score?? 
     

    Ive been round the houses to get this far, at first everyone suspected issues with my bowel. I was very luck to find my initial consultant who has managed to get this pushed through so quickly and get me the scans I needed. 
     

    My advice would be to keep on at them until you've got your appointments and scans, don't feel bad about having to chase.

    I have a suspiciuous cyst too. They cant even tell which ovary its on .!!!

    im booked in 23rd Nov for a full hysterectomy

    my ca Blood test was 55

    That's good you've got a date, was it booked on the back of this or before you found out about the cyst?

    I feel I have ages to go before I even get a date for my op. 
    My ca is 119

    It was booked just two weeks ago. After foir weeks or so of scans etc.

    started with ultrasound scan finding swollan ovary.

    then had CT scan then MRI.

    total hysterectomy monday now
