Mass on tail end of pancreas

Hi.. I was after some advise, I had a Ct scan due to a kidney infection and they found a mass on the tail end of my pancreas... So I was refered to a consultant who spoke to me over the phone and arranged a Mri which I have had and a nurse called me on Monday to say I'm going to be seen by a consultant to discuss the results next week... I have recieved the letter and it says a surgeon... Now I'm worried sick as why it woukd be a surgeon has anyone else had this???

    Welcome to Cancer Chat. Try not to worry too much about the terminology used as consultants may themselves be surgeons so don't draw any conclusions from this and what it may mean. The best thing to do is to just go to your appointment and to discuss these results with the specialist. It won't be long now until you find out more. 

    I hope everything goes well for you next week and that you get a bit more clarity on all this.
