Results being discussed at the MDT meeting tomorrow, worried

Hi, I posted a little while ago about finding a lump, they could not find anything on imaging, ultrasound x2 and mammogram, I’m 38 so they said that’s possibly why with the mammogram, I had a FNA where the cells came back suspicious, so they followed up with a core biopsy and a contrast MRI, both of these tests I’m waiting on results for which I have been told will be discussed at tomorrow’s MDT meeting, I was a little silly and googled what an MDT meeting is and it all comes back to cancer or the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, is this true? Or do they just discuss all results at these meetings? It’s been almost 4 weeks of tests and 6 or more weeks since I went to the GP, so I am going out of my mind a little bit x

  • Hello Becky82jg

It's part of the usual process that results are discussed at an MDT meeting particularly when things have not been straightforward in the diagnosis process such as you've experienced.

Did the Consultant get in touch with you yesterday following the meeting or do you have an appointment arranged to discuss the results?

I know that this period of waiting for answers can be really difficult, especially when it's drawn out with lots of tests over many weeks. Hopefully now the Consultant will be able to give you some firm answers about what this lump is and some reassurance about any next steps.

Do let us know how you get on.

    Best wishes,
