It's not uncommon for some Consultants to send patients a copy of what is discussed during an appointment particularly if there was lots of information as often patients can forget parts of what is discussed. 

If you're expecting another appointment soon or are unsure how long you will be waiting for surgery then I would encourage you to give the Consultants secretary a call and they will be able to help. 

I hope that you don't have to wait too long and that all goes smoothly.
