High risk hpv and low grade dyskaryosis

I got a high risk hpv and low grade dykaryosis in my smear test result and have been referred to Colposcopy. I am worried sick and can bearly sleep at night.

I am only 29 years old and worried that I am never going to have a normal life again and will have to constantly live in the fear of developing cancer. Please can someone advice or help or just say anything that would help me calm down :(

I am already starting to get myself mentally prepared that I have another 10 years to live !! I am an overthinker and a super anxious person so that doesn't help at all.

  • Hi there sorry to hear about your situation

Try not to worry - I have high risk hpv and had high grade dykanosis and had to have smears every year (joy) to keep it in check after laser (loop) treatment -  and honestly it's nothing to worry about it doesn't take long and after that they just keep a check on you yearly - my last smear they said I was all clear and didn't have to come back for another three years ! As long as you keep going for your checks after you'll be fine ️ Honestly you are young and healthy and they have got you on the records now so you will be kept an eye on - it's when people don't go for years without smears and leave any kind of check up which nowadays is really irresponsible- you aren't which is good x don't worry it's treatable and In check here is a snip from nhs

"Once infected with HPV, it can take 15 to 20 years for cervical cancer to develop, or 5 to 10 years if you have a weakened immune system. HPV may be more likely to progress to cervical cancer if you smoke or have other sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, or herpes simplex."

keep eating well / don't smoke/ keep fit! You'll be fine

  • These years. At the detection of the cin2 umnie after the 3rd biopsy, I had a cervical conosation procedure, the doctors cut 2.5 cm, i.e. the taper of the cervix, after a year, the problem came back again with a biopsy so much that the changes were apparently more and more cancerous cells appeared and the high risk hpv tags appeared. The doctor said it, looking only now, I'm waiting for the biopsy result.I'm so scerd I just want sit and cry but I can't because I got 2 kids and I know I need be strong
