Hi,
Sorry in advance of the long post! First timer!
A few weeks ago I found a small hard lump above my right nipple. I wasn't too worried but thought it best to see the doctor. I was referred to the breast clinic (last Monday 2/11) and after the examination, ultrasound, biopsy and mammogram I left the hospital with nothing but worry.
I was told the small lump is a cyst- as expected- but they were unsure what the cyst was attached to. It was described as a shadow and a mass. During the ultrasound I was told there are no swollen glands and no lumps etc anywhere else in my breast.
I do have a few questions that I couldn't think of at the time and I'm hoping maybe someone who has been through it could offer a little comfort or knowledge.
Before I left the clinic I was told they would contact me with the biopsy results. How long is this usually? The worry is eating me up!
The metal thread inserted at the time of biopsy- is this just to show where the biopsy was taken from?
Is it normal for biopsy site to be sore after a week?
Has anyone else had a shadow described on their ultrasound? If so, what was it?
Thank you so so much for bearing with me!
Jules
