Meningioma

Hi, I am a fit healthy 45 year old that after some mri scans as I have been having balancing issues and weakness in my arms and back have found a meningioma in my brain can't help but think negative thoughts phoned outpatients and they have said an urgent wait time is 48 weeks!

  • Hello Nikki_H,

Try not to think negatively as this will only affect your wellbeing. Due to the pandemic, there is a higher demand on health services, but I'm sorry you have to wait a while for an appointment. It may be a good idea to contact again and see what could be done in the meantime. Here are some tips, which I hope will help when contacting your doctor.

    All the best,

  • Hi, just came across your post while searching myself. They found mine on a CT scan. They think it's very small and was an 'incidental finding' I have had a MRI to look at if further but haven't had anything back yet, this was last Wednesday. All I know is that mine was small, in a good position? and calcified which made them think it was benign. From my googling (bad thing usually) it looks like most of them are and it can be as simple as regular check ups, a watch and wait approach. Mine was found as was struggling with tinnitus but not sure that it is related. I'm 48 and usually healthy! Hope you're got some more answers. Take care x
