Lump at the front of my neck

Hello

I'm probably worrying about nothing but I've found quite a large lump at the front of my neck slightly to the right. It's painless and can be see without touch. I'd say it's 3cm +.

In the last couple of months I've noice like a dull ache in my neck and shoulder and the top of my back. I've presumed a pulled muscle as I've 9m old twins so often carrying two babies.

but now I've found this lump. I feel absolutely fine apart for crazy tired! The babies are sleeping through now but still feel more tired than the newborn days.

ive been to see the doc and they said it's near my thyroid glad and done bloods which I should get the results for on Monday.

i just feel a bit worried that with corona virus things might be put off / held up etc and I also don't want to be wasting anyone's time.

i guess my questions are:

1. If I was something cancerous would that show in the blood results? I'm not really sure what the bloods are been checked for?

2. if they come back normal what would I expect to happen next?

3. If the bloods do come back normal and I don't hear anything more should I just monitor it and if I grows go back and if not presume it's nothing to worry about?
4. Has anyone experienced similar? If so what was the outcome? Good or bad

sorry for rambling x

  • Hi Kate28481,

Welcome to Cancer Chat and I'm sorry to read about your worries, which are of course perfectly natural. To be honest these are all questions which will be best answered by your doctor - so if you are speaking to them about your results today then do ask them these questions, and if helpful make some notes too.

I hope it all goes well today.

    Wishing you all the best,
