Large hard immovable lump

Hi all,

Just over four weeks ago I noticed a large hard lump at the top of my right breast close to my chest. I initially thought it was just chest bone as I have recently lost weight, but I booked an appointment with the doctor to be safe. The doctor referred me for  a two week emergency scan. However, due to the backlog (Covid times), I have now been waiting four weeks for a scan appointment to come through. Both breasts have been very sore this week but I think that's because my period is due soon. Unfortunately it has made me more aware of the large lump though.

I was just wondering if anybody else in this forum has experienced similar symptoms? I am 33.

Thanks all,

Gemma

  • Hello G87,

I just wanted to welcome you to our forum. I am so sorry to hear that Covid delays have meant that you have been waiting for four weeks for your scan appointment to come through. I can imagine it must be a very stressful time for you while waiting to have this lump on your breast looked at.

I know it is really hard but try not to worry too much or anticipate what it might be. The best thing to do to avoid thinking too much about this is to keep busy and distracted if you can and avoid looking things up online. I can imagine it is hard for you to do this at the moment but it will help you feel a little less anxious.

I hope you will also hear from others here who have been through all this before and experienced similar symptoms and that they will be along soon to share their story with you.

Keeping everything crossed for you that everything turns out fine.

    Best wishes,
