Nervous and anxious about nodes

Hi. I

m a 33 year old female with the fear of lymphoma. I firstly had a cold which only affected one side of my face and a constant lump feeling in my throat. After a month I called the doctors and the gave me antibiotics for a sinus infection. Nothing changed. I went back again and the doctor felt my lymph nodes and immediately said he was sending me for an urgent referral to ENT. Now I'm scared he felt something I didn't.

tonight my whole body has started itching. My anxiety is through the roof and I'm having panic attacks at any sign of differences in my body. Hoping to just get a little support from people in the same situation. Thanks xx

  • Hi

I am currently awaiting results of a biopsy I had done this week. I had an MRI a few weeks ago for suspected gallstones (which they confirmed). During this MRI, they found I had enlarged lymph nodes in both armpits (one is very large and cause for concern).  My GP did an urgent ultrasound & biopsy request and also an urgent referral to a Haematologist under the 2 week wait rule. The scan & biopsy was done on Wednesday and I had a telephone consultation with a Haematologist on the same day. She told me I would need a CT scan and it would be arranged within a week. The hospital called me today and told me they had booked the CT for Monday morning.

Try not to be too alarmed if things happen quickly. There are lots of reasons that can cause lymph nodes to become swollen and your GP is being thorough in the investigations as to why.  Also, try not to use Google (it’s hard not to I know).

Let me know how you get on x

  • Hi,

thanks for replying. I'm trying to stay away from Dr Google as much as I can't but I'm finding it very hard at the moment.

Yesterday I started getting red itchy patches on my body that are really uncomfortable, especially under my armpits. Was hoping it would be gone by the time I woke up but it isn't. Feels like it's burning.

sounds like everything is moving very quickly for you, that's great. Must be a bit of a relief that things are moving fast.

let me know how you get on and how your results are.
    xx
