Breast clinic referral

Hi all

I have just joined the forum so hopefully this is doing in the right place

I have been referred to the breast clinic by my GP.

I have had sharp aching pain across the top of my right breast for quite a few months, at first I thought they were hormonal buy it's gradually gotten worse. I now have the pain spreading into my armpit which is much more painful and shooting pains down my arm. All on my right side. The aches and pains are daily and most of the day.

My GP gave me a week of antibiotics but they didn't help. If anything it was worse during the last few days. She has now referred me under the 2 week wait and the hospital have called to say they will book me in asap.

As you can all imagine I'm terrified!! I'm 28 and have 3 young children, I cannot calm my mind right now.

My GP has never been the most helpful, she refuses to listen to various issues so it's hard to tell if things are linked or not. She has referred me for the breast pain but has said we will deal With the armpit and arm palms separately. Which just makes no sense. I have told her that for the last few months my periods have been very different. Much longer cycles, heavier bleeding lasted over 10 days and very sharp pains that make me feel sick just below my ribs/top of stomache. She wasnt interested in seeing if this was connected? Does it sound possible to anyone?

I've done the usually Dr Google diagnosis which I know I shouldn't but I'm now fearful Of lymphoma.

Just to add I have no lumps or swelling just all pain, aches, numbness and shooting pains.

I'd be really grateful for some input, similar stories and just to talk I guess.

Sorry it's so long best wishes all x

  • Hi [@Libra92]‍ I am in a similar situation. Started having left beast pain about 2 weeks ago. This is now in different parts of my breast and soreness under my armpit. There are no lumps or changes to the breast. I do have some pain in the right breast too but not as bad as the left. I spoke to a nurse at the GP surgery who has referred me to the hospital as an urgent referral but she advised me it didn't sound suspicious. I have read that breast pain alone isn't a common symptom of BC but I'm still panicking. I do suffer from health anxiety and I'm hoping I get an appointment soon. Any advice from anyone would really welcome. Let's try and stay strong and positive Libra92 x
